The Applications Architect independently provides specific systems consulting, systems analysis, and overall leadership related to the acquisition, coordination, integration, and use of complex, enterprise computing systems throughout MHS entities. Applies expert level knowledge of Meaningful Use (MU), or regulatory programs affecting healthcare information technology, to provide leadership, guidance, and coordination of technological optimization of the electronic health record (EHR). Applies in-depth knowledge of applications to ensure effective and optimal use of applications, and incorporating new applications or refinements to applications from technological improvements, organizational changes or process improvements, and in collaboration with Application Managers and Directors identifies and selects new system solutions. The Applications Architect participates in and/or manages all phases of large and small projects, and is accountable for the success of enterprise wide projects, repairs, process improvements, and overall benefits realization. This individual is also responsible for ensuring that the supported systems, including hardware, software and databases are compatible with, and supportive of, the overall information needs of MHS and its affiliates.
