| The Intake Counselor will screen intake calls for appropriate level of care and conduct initial intake assessments to determine appropriateness for admission to facility or community referral.
Responsibilities include: - Assists caller in providing recommendations for appropriate action including assessment and/or admission, or referral to an appropriate agency for further services when in-house services are inappropriate.
- Conducts admissions assessments.
- Completes thorough and timely admissions assessments. Communicates patient information, in adherence with HIPAA standards, with other treatment professionals and service areas, relevant to the provision ofservices upon admission.
- Communicates effectively and demonstrates quality customer service with all internal and external customers.
- Communicates professionally and with compassion.
- Maintains working knowledge of current hospital and payer source criteria, custodial parent and guardian requirements, pre-certification processes, and referral sources.
- Adheres to general performance standards for hospital employees, and maintains licensure and training requirements. Fosters productive teamwork within the integrated hospital system.
