Assessment Specialist RN or MHC/MSW

Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital is an 86 bed inpatient psychiatric hospital in Panama City, Florida which provides treatment options to children, adolescents, adults, active duty service members and their families, and Veterans. Our specialized multidisciplinary treatment services are provided by highly trained psychiatrists, therapists, addiction counselors, nurses, and activities therapists. Panama City, FL is located on the panhandle of northwest Florida on beautiful St. Andrews Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. The Assessment Specialist RN or MHC/MSW performs psychosocial screening and evaluations of all patients, voluntary and involuntary, who present to the facility with a primary psychiatric or behavioral complaint.

 Essential Job Duties:

• Conduct telephone triage activities.

• Perform clinical crisis assessments on patients experiencing diverse mental health and/or substance abuse issues/disorders. Provides accurate evaluation of medical necessity, offering alternative levels of care when feasible.

• Facilitate admission to hospital based programs

• Initiates a collection and assessment of information for payers; completes pre-certification and continued stay authorization
